Born in Gaza in 1895; made a living as grain exporter; was a member of the Arab Executive Committee in Jerusalem; served as Gaza delegate to the 1st Palestinian Arab Congress, held in Jerusalem, 1919; represented Gaza at the 1st, 4th and 5th Palestinian National Congress held in 1919, 1920 and 1922; was an elected member of the Supreme Muslim Council, Southern District (Gaza), in Jan. 1922, representing the district until 1929; also was a representative of the Jerusalem Sanjak (autonomous district); member of the Gaza municipal council in 1934; was temporarily appointed mayor of Gaza when Gaza mayor Fahmi Al-Husseini was put in custody in 1938, until 28 Jan. 1939; member of the Palestinian Arab delegation that headed to the London Conference in 1939 as representative of Al-Difa’ party; died in 1961 in Gaza.
