Born in Nablus on 4 Oct. 1965; raised in Balata Refugee Camp, Nablus; was educated at UNRWA schools; received a BA in Biology from An-Najah University, Nablus, in 1984; Fateh activist; was the first female student elected to the An-Najah University Student Council in 1987; worked as Coordinator of the northern West Bank for the Association of Women Committees Social Work (AWCSW) from 1988-94; was a member of the Regional Electoral Office in Nablus in 1995; was elected (as one of five women) to the PLC (Fateh) for the Nablus district in the Jan. 1996 elections; was Secretary of the PLC’s Political Committee from 1996 and member of the PLC’s Education and Social Affairs Committees; serves as Exec. Committee member of the AWCSW and as Board of the Trustees member of Al-Haq Women Committee for Social Work in 1999 and the Women’s Affairs Technical Committee (WATC); member of Fateh’s Higher Committee and the Fateh Women’s Union; member of the PNC Foreign Relations Dept.; continued her studies and received an MA in International Relations from Birzeit University in 2005; ran unsuccessfully in the 2006 PLC elections (Fateh, Nablus district).
