Born in Jerusalem in 1969; graduated from Dar Al-Aytam School in the Old City of Jerusalem; received a BA in Business Administration from the Eastern Mediterranean University in (Turkish north) Cyprus, and an MBA from Al-Quds University, Jerusalem; worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Palestinian Center for the Development of Small Businesses and as Director at Al-Masrooji Company; Lecturer at Al-Quds University’s Business Administration and Marketing School; also serves as representative of Iqra’ Center for Qur’an and Sunnah and as General Supervisor for the Qur’an teaching centers in Jerusalem; is active in anti-land confiscation committees in Wadi Al-Joz/Bir Al-Marasras neighborhood and in campaigns to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque; was elected as PLC member (Change and Reform, Jerusalem district) in the Jan. 2006 elections; was arrested (along with other PA ministers and PLC members) in an Israeli military sweep against Hamas on 29 June 2006; refused to resign from the PLC as demanded by Israel and had his Jerusalem residency permit and Israeli ID card subsequently revoked by Interior Minister Roni Bar-On on 30 June; is still detained as of July 2006.
