Born in Gaza in 1932; was initially a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, but left and joined the ANM in 1956; later became leading member of the PFLP and member of its first politburo in 1969, in charge of coordinating operations in the OPT, especially in Gaza; ran but was not re-elected to the PFLP politburo in 1993; returned to Gaza in 1996; died in 2002.
