Born in Beit Lahia, Gaza, in 1935; studied Literature; received an MA in Education; among the founders of the ANM in Gaza 1955; later co-founder of the PFLP, becoming member of its Political Bureau; member of the PLO Central Council and the PNC; died on 23 Feb. 2004 in the UAE, where he was undertaking medical treatment.
