Born in Al-Abbasiyyah, Haifa in 1944; formed, together with Mohammed Zeidan (Abul Abbas) the Palestine Liberation Front (PLF), a militant PLO faction that split from the PFLP-GC in April 1977; led the pro-Damascus faction of the PLF in the 1980s (reunified with other PLF factions in July 1987); PLO Exec. Committee member; died of a heart attack in Algeria in 17 Nov. 1988.
