ABDULLAH (Sheikh) Al-QِِِALQILI

Birth: NULL/NULL/1899 Death:NULL/NULL/1973
Born in Qalqilya in 1899; was schooled in his town; later studied at Al-Azhar in Cairo and at the Faculty of Arts of the Egyptian University in Cairo; became a teacher of Arabic at the Egyptian University in Cairo; returned to Palestine in 1919; taught Religion and Arabic Language in Jerusalem, Gaza, and at the Frère’s School in Jaffa; founded Al-Siraat Al-Mustaqim (The Straight Path) magazine in Jaffa in 1925 and regularly wrote for the paper; was known as one of the Mufti Haj Amin Al-Husseini most outspoken opponents; after the Nakba, moved to Syria and taught in Damascus until his resignation in 1967; died in Jordan in 1973.
