Born in the village of Fassuta, Upper Galilee, in 1932; teacher of Arabic Language in the Orthodox Secondary School in Haifa; had a leading role in Al-Ard (Land) organization; was imprisoned after demonstrations in Haifa in 1961; after being dismissed from his teaching job as a result of his political activity, opened a coffee shop in Wadi An-Nusnas; expelled from Israel for belonging to the PLO in the 1960s; lived in Syria; independent member of the PLO Executive Committee from 1977-1981; contributed in publishing Al-Ard publications (Al-Ard Institution for Palestinian Studies based in Damascus); translated from Hebrew to Arabic and wrote studies about Zionism and Israeli politics, incl., The Arabs in the Shadow of the Israeli Occupation since 1948 (Arabic, Beirut, 1972).
