Born in Nablus in 1931; attended An-Najah College; supported the ideas of Gamal Abdul Nasser; served as member of the Board of Directors of the Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industries from 1962-91 and its Chairman from 1986-91; was an elected member of the Nablus Municipal Council for three consecutive terms and mayor of Nablus from 1986-88; also worked as journalist for 45 years; was a Board of Trustees member of the Arab Orphanage Committee at the Vocational Secondary School of Dar Al-Yatim Al-Arabi (Arab Orphanage School) in Jerusalem; also served as Exec. Council member of the Union of Jordanian Chambers of Commerce and as member of Waqf Higher Council; died on 24 Aug. 2005.
