Born in Jerusalem in 1897; was educated in Al-Salahiyyeh and Rawdat Al-Ma’aref schools in Jerusalem; joined the Ottoman army in 1916; returned to Jerusalem after WWI; worked as a teacher in Deir Ghassaneh and Beit Rima (near Ramallah), then at Rawdat Al-Ma’aref School in Jerusalem; became Dir.-Gen. of Dar Al-Aytam (Islamic Orphanage School) in 1925; was imprisoned by the British Mandate authorities in 1936 for his political activities; resumed his post as Dir.-Gen. of Dar Al-Aytam after his release; helped establish a scouts troupe, a music band, and a printing press for the school in 1955; was appointed Dir.-Gen. of the Islamic Waqf Administration in Jerusalem in 1945, 1946 and 1947; resigned from his job in the early 1960s; served as head of a press release office in Jerusalem, then worked in the field of trade (importing house furniture); died in 1971.
