Born in Al-Azziz, Galilee, on 25 Aug. 1962; received elementary education in his home village, secondary education at Terra Sancta School in Nazareth; was active in the Communist Party during the 1970s and wrote in Al-Ittihad newspaper; joined the Shari’a College in Hebron from 1979-83; was active in Islamic activities since 1983; Islamic preacher in Kufr Kana from 1983-2005; wrote in Al-Sirat and Sawt Al-Haq Islamic magazines between 1985-2005; due to his political work, was prohibited by Israel to enter the West Bank and Gaza Strip from 1986-89; was active in the Islamic Relief Society in Nazareth from 1996-98; Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Movement inside the Green Line from 1996-2005.
