KAMEL EREKAT

Birth: NULL/NULL/1906 Death:NULL/NULL/1977
Born in Abu Dis, Jerusalem, in 1906; studied at Rawdat Al-Ma’aref School in Jerusalem and the Friends’ School in Ramallah, graduating in 1923; served in the British Police from 1926-41; then worked in the business of dairy products in Jerusalem; member of the Jericho Local Council; participated in the Palestinian resistance movement under the leadership of Abdul Qader Al-Husseini in the 1930-40s; joined Al-Jihad Al-Muqaddes from 1947-49; founded and led Al-Fatwah youth organization in 1976; elected member of the Jordanian Parliament in the 1950s and its speaker in the 1970s; died in 1977.
