Born in Jerusalem on 22 Feb. 1951; enrolled at the Eastern Michigan University and received a BSc in Management Systems and Social Sciences in 1974 and an MA in Social Studies, Economics, Diplomatic History and Political Science in 1975; received another MA from the University of Texas-Austin, where he also earned his PhD in 1982; member of the American Political Science Association and the American Society if International Law since 1978; taught at the universities of Jordan and Birzeit; became a Senior Consultant at MOPIC in 1996; served as Director of Economic Policies at PECDAR from June 1995-Sept. 1996, then as Dir.-Gen. of the PA Ministry of Economy and Trade; was also Dir.-Gen. and Director of Research at the Palestinian Center for Regional Studies, Al-Bireh, from Oct. 1996-Dec. 2000; served as Chairman of the Dept. of Political Science and Diplomatic Studies at Al-Quds University; was Director of the Sartawi Center for Peace and co-founder/Director of the American Studies MA Program at Al-Quds University; serves as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and as Professor of Political Science and Diplomatic Studies, Al-Quds University, Jerusalem; has written numerous articles and papers as well as co-authored a number of books, incl. Economic Sanctions: Ideals and Experiences (London: Routledge and Kegan Paul, 1983) and An Introduction to the Jordanian Political System (Arabic, 1993).
