Served as officer for the Kuwaiti Royal Guards; was promoted to the title of Major General; was appointed by the PLO Exec. Committee as first chief commander of the PLA after its creation in 1964 and took up the post in Cairo on 24 Sept. 1964; led Abtal Al-‘Awda (Heroes of Return), a guerrilla group, which commenced attacks from Oct. 1966; in the 1970, became commander in the Kuwaiti security forces and later Director of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces, with the rank of a Colonel. He died in 1991.
